Brand Introduction: Hong Kong Creation Workshop (HKCW)

The company first established in 1994 to cope with the demand of police figurines in the local market. There were virtually no miniature models of any of the emergency services in Hong Kong, other than some toys for children, at that time.

The first model was a 150mm resin figurine of a traffic police officer. Because of its popularity, the range quickly extended to cover almost all branches of the Royal Hong Kong Police (RHKP). The company quickly earned its reputation and was approached for special commissioned 200mm figurines. Many of our commissioned figurines are now on display in the office of some of the elite units in the world. Other than police figurines, the company also produced firemen and again they too proved very popular.

In 1997, the company saw the peak of the figurines business, but we were soon overwhelmed with cheap quality copies from China. In order to control the situation, the company temporarily stopped the production of figurines for the public. Instead, it turned its focus to specially-commissioned figurines, some of which (with kind permission of the copy holder) can be found in our special-edition page. It includes weapons and both military and police vehicles. There is even a 1/72 scale helicopter, too.

With the turn of the century, the company opened up a new product line our military series. It started off with individual track-links which were followed by several conversion kits, all of which are modern arc subjects. Again, most of them are now hard to find items.

Why did we cease production of the old series models? First, copyright issues because, when the company closed down, there was an agreement that neither party should produce the same product without prior approval. The second and most obvious reason was that they were not up to today’s standard and the demand was simply NOT there!

We would like to thanks those enthusiastic modellers who make the effort in offering ideas, sending us sketches, photos and endless amounts of reference materials to have any single model/figurine made. We will continue to accept contributions or ideas for any new products and they will be credited accordingly.

We also like to extend our invitation to any talented modellers who are interested in sharing their work with others. They will be rewarded commensurately, of course, which will remain a business secret between us! Their contributions to the model world are invaluable and should not be counted by monetary terms.

In closing, welcome everyone to visit our web site and please leave your valuable comments that will help to develop our company. We may not be able to answer individually as we only have a handful of staff, but we are listening and will react. Keep coming back to hear more good news.
